installation is required, but users must have Microsoft InfoPath
installed to edit forms.

- Qdabra's Database Accelerator Web Services

The
following hot fixes have been released for Qdabra's flagship Web
Service Suite (DBXL) since July 7th

SharePoint Designer filtering for large doctypes for
forms with many promoted columns]
Target
release is now November 2009. Here is a brief summary of the new
features:

Clustering support – install DBXL on multiple front end
servers with one backend database. Benefits:
o Easier integration with load-balanced environments
o Enables scalability for cloud environments (like AWS)
·
Forms Viewer integration – quickly view XML documents in
your Web browser. Benefits:
o View data without InfoPath (for example, from your cell
phone)
o Supports custom “downlevel” views to fit your most
common browser resolution
o Supports displaying images, rich text sections, and many
other controls
o Supports simple submit without XML validation. More
support planned for future releases

SharePoint mapping improvements – asynchronous submit
improves submit performance
·
Event log notifications – get e-mail when there’s a XML
to SQL mapping error
o Sends e-mail to an administrator when any DBXL error
occurs.
·
Versioning – make a big change to your schema without
leaving old data behind. Details:
o Create a new doctype to map your new form’s data to same
SQL tables used for your old form
o Old form data opens in the old form template
o New form data opens in the new form template
o Add a convert button that upgrades an old form to open
in a new form

Offline forms – support e-mailing people who are not
always online. Benefits:
o Supports URN-based solutions
·
Workflow notifications – send email from server when
assigning an InfoPath form
o Set triggers based on assignment or due date
o Send recurring “statistics” on active documents in the
doctype

qRules
was our most popular download last month. We continue our efforts to
improve qRules for InfoPath forms creators. Here are some of the new
features in qRules 1.8:

o Insert command now allows inserting before or after
o Added Error and Success nodes to qRules schema. Error

qRules 1.8 is our last free version. Download it today and take a survey to qualify for a free
upgrade to 2.0. qRules 2.0 contains important new integration with
SharePoint to enable reporting on repeating data and dynamic filtering.
