Free Tools
Qdabra is constantly looking for ways to make your InfoPath forms more powerful and less costly. Our InfoPathDev community attracts over 30,000 unique visitors and 1000 new posts every month. We feel the pain of the InfoPath community and have developed many tools to bridge gaps so that you can create more powerful solutions faster with less long-term cost. Last quarter we introduced qRules.

You can use our qRules plug-in to extend your InfoPath form and do the most common tasks which require code, but without having to write that code. Qdabra has packaged the logic into a plug-in that you inject into your InfoPath form to get powerful features. For example, here is a partial list of some of the features bundled in qRules:
  • Save attachments to SharePoint and convert to links in your form for faster open time - read Ernesto's blog post here.
  • Sort your tables by columns
  • Copy data from a secondary data source into your main data source
  • Delete one or more nodes from a repeating group

qRules means less code and less code means less maintenance cost for you. Best of all qRules is absolutely free. Watch Ernesto's video to learn more or visit our qRules download page to get your free copy. Note: if your form already has custom code, you cannot use qRules.

Free Template Parts
Microsoft Office 2007 introduced XML Template Parts (XTPs) for InfoPath to help users quickly build forms using common sections. You can:
  • Define a section and reuse it in multiple InfoPath form templates
  • Add a data connection to your XTP pointing at your Web service
  • When the XTP changes, you can easily update all of your InfoPath templates

The following template parts are included in this FREE download:

  • Address Block - read Mel's blog post here
  • Contact Block - read Mel's blog post here
  • Hide-Show Section - read Mel's blog post here

XTPs can help you save time when designing new forms. They can also reduce the time it takes to update forms. Visit our XTP download page today to get your free copy.

New Detailing Service
Qdabra has started a new InfoPath Forms "Detailing" service. You send us your InfoPath form templates and we analyze them and send you a report:
  • Best Practices - did you follow best practices in creating the form? For example, is your data source well-structured? We list up best practices that your form should follow.
  • Performance - can your form's performance be improved? We give you a quick summary of any improvements you could make.
  • Cost of Ownership - how can you simplify your form to reduce maintenance costs down the road? We list up ways you can simplify your form that don't change its functionality.
  • Security - does your form have security issues? We perform a quick threat analysis and send you the results.
  • Visual Design - can you improve the look and usability of your form? Our UI gurus review your UI and recommend improvements?

Make your form shine with Qdabra's Detailing Service. To schedule a free complementary appraisal today, send request form via Contact Us page
